Uh Oh, Things Are Going Good

I had a thought the other day, things are going really good in my life right now. I'm really happy. My marriage, my career, my daughter, even my leisure time, everything in my life is really working out.

I'm counseling 3 couples in Basic Money Management through my chruch, Awana's is wrapping up and almost every kid will have earned their book award. Everywhere I look, it's good news, sunshine and happiness.

As I was thinking about this, I was gripped by a mind numbing fear. Isn't usually just when you say "Wow, my life is really going well" that the whole thing just falls apart on you. I don't believe in karma, or cosmic forces, other than God. And by God, I mean the God of Abraham, and Issac and Jacob, and the Father of Jesus Christ. That God.

Maybe it's just that I've watched too many movies or television shows. Just when things start going right for the hero, it all falls apart.

I am thankful to Him for all that I have. I know it all comes from God. He gives and takes away. I'm just happy to be in the Giving phase right now.

Car Frustrations

We spent a couple of days looking at cars and we are really frustrated.

What we are finding is cars that are in the range of what we want to spend, but those cars are 8 to 10 years old with close to or over 100,000 miles already on them.

When we look at cars more in the range of 3 to 5 years old, we are seeing prices much higher than what we want to pay.

When we had to replace my Honda a couple of years ago, we found the Saturn I drive now. It was older, but didn't have a ton of miles on it and really fit the price range we were looking for. We had hoped to repeat that success again, but so far, we haven't.

We are just totally frustrated, and the rental has to be back Friday night. The whole POINT of spending the money on the rental was to give us a little time to find a good deal and not be pressured by thinking 'we have to buy a car today!'
