True Worship

It's hard to worship God and be true in your Spirit about it when you desperately want Him to act on your behalf. True worship worships God for who He is and what He had already done. True worship isn't about getting God to do something for you. But when you have a need in your life, like we have right now, its hard to get that out of mind. You evaluate everything you do in the light of trying to get God to act.

We pray. We 'make known our petitions to God'. That's the extent of what we can go. If we are to worship God 'in spirit and in truth' then we have to worship for who He is and what He has done for us. We have to recognize that He acts in the future according to His good will and for His good purpose. And we have to praise Him for that too regardless if the outcome is what we want.
